Descrizione e Attività
Descrizione Generale
The objectives of FRAP are: a) the development of a procedural framework for action plans that allow a reconciliation (where conflicts arise) of the conservation of large vertebrates with the use of the same biological resources by humans; b) illustration of the framework using conflicts between the conservation of large fish-eating vertebrates and fisheries as a model. These objectives include an ecological and socio-economic assessment of the positive and negative interactions between fisheries and the conservation of fish-eating vertebrates, the development of efficient ecological and socio-economic mitigation/compensation strategies, and their integration into a framework that allows an effective reconciliation between the vested interests of stakeholders in biodiversity conservation and those in biodiversity use.
