Descrizione Generale

The overall objective is the enhancement of the water resources management in the Mediterranean Basin territories contributing to the improvement of a local governance for sustainable development. Specifically, the activities will contribute to develop an integrated approach that will co-ordinate water cycle management across sectors with the enforcement of a multi-stakeholder partnerships (public and private actors) to put in place the sharing of an innovative water management approach at the Mediterranean Basin level. The WATER-DROP Project will contribute to further strengthen the partnership between Lega Pesca and Lebanese Authorities, on the solid basis of the previous positive collaboration such as the tripartite Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2011 by the CNRS, the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture and Lega Pesca, and the experience of the "Phyto-Ambient" Project, aimed at reducing the environmental impact of trout farms on the Orontes river, that Lega Pesca has implemented in 2012/2013 in partnership with the Union of Municipalities of Hermel.

Attività svolta da ENEA

L'ENEA coordina il progetto e contribuisce a disegnare un approccio concertato sulla pianificazione del ciclo dell'acqua e sua relativa gestione comune per i paesi del mediterraneo, in particolare Libano, territori palestinesi e Giordania. Saranno identificate le metodologie e tecnologie ottimali che devono essere adottate per stabilire una struttura di riferimento per la gestione strategica sostenibile del ciclo dell'acqua ed il mantenimento della qualità idrica a livello di bacino ai fini delle produzioni agricole della protezione dell'ecosistema e della salute dell'uomo. Sarà sviluppato un DSS (Decision Support System) che sia di ausilio alle politiche di salvaguardia e alla gestione della risorsa acqua nei paesi mediterranei.
