The main objectives of the projects are:
. design a pilot project to test innovative solutions regarding WEEE in the Campania (Italy). The pilot design will set up and test a spatially-enabled ICT system related to the collection and sharing of open harmonized WEEE-data. In parallel, the pilot will focus on the adoption of material recovery processes and set up optimized protocols exploiting the WEEE data-hub;
. Identify synergies and funding opportunities to set up a joint KIC Centre to collocate the existing KICs and access the ESIF in the convergence regions for other joint initiatives. The purpose is to replicate the innovation deployed and demonstrated in the KICs, stimulating collaborations between the KIC partners and local partners, while attracting convergence regions’ funding.
The project involved series of meetings with companies and other actors in the WEEE sector in Campania, in order to perform an accurate analysis of the state of the art and to identify potential critical issues to be addressed in a subsequent pilot project. At the end of project, a big event took place, with all the major local players in the sector, political, scientists, companies included.
Attività svolta da ENEA
ENEA has developed a questionnaire,composed by a part dedicated to the type and amount of WEEE managed by the respondent and a part dedicated to the type of data produced and of data management systems. ENEA has contributed to the interpretation of the data and then to the drafting of final reports.
The partners have delegated to ENEA all operational tasks; ENEA has contributed to the drafting of the pilot project too.
