Descrizione:

An important tool in the quality control of analyses is the use of (Certified) Reference Materials, (C)RMs, to test accuracy, validate methods and assure traceability and inter-comparability between laboratories. The central mission of the "European Virtual Institute on Reference Materials" (VI-RM) is a knowledge Network and a facility to encourage the interaction between all stakeholder in the field of Reference Materials. The VI-RM shall become the meeting place for producers, distributors, users (including industry and SMEs), service providers, and research organizations in EU&NAS countries. The VI-RM will act both as glue (between Network Members) and grease to smooth dissemination, exchange of ideas and concepts. The project has the main objective to nurture the concept of a Virtual Institute and to develop into a legally and financially independent organization.


Attività svolta da ENEA:

Le attività ENEA nel progetto sono le seguenti: Chariman delo Steering Committee dell'istituto virtuale; Leader del Workpackage 1 realtivo alla definizione della struttura finanziaria/amministrativa dell'istituto virtuale. Partecipante ai seguenti workpackage: sviluppo ed armonizzazione di concetti relativi alla produzione ed utilizzo di (l)RMs e CRMs; realizzazione del database dell'istituto virtuale; sviluppo ed implementazione di una strategia di disseminazione delle conoscenze verso istituzioni europee pubbliche e private, industrie etc.; valutazione intermedia del progetto; management and reporting.
