Descrizione:

The overall objective of this task is to continue the verification & validation (V&V) of the computer code PACTITER v3.3 for the study of generation, transport, and deposition of activated corrosion products (ACPs) in water cooling loops to support source term assessment for safety analysis needed for ITER licensing. The related V&V activities will include: - Verification calculations, issue of the code full documentation by implementing quality assurance in the documents and validation, issue of the user manual and assistance to users. - Collection of input data for ACP assessment through material release tests to be carried out on stainless steels and copper alloy at the CORELE test loop in the operating ITER Primary Heat Transfer System (PHTS) range of coolant temperature (100 - 200°C), coolant velocities, and with the related water chemistry (very pure water). - As side activity, it is foreseen an independent verification testing by applying the code to the ACP assessment for an ITER PHTS cooling loop and checking of the documentation. In addition, the following request have to be met: applying Quality Assurance (QA) according to the guidelines which will be provided by EFDA in a separate document.


Attività svolta da ENEA:

Il codice PACTITER v3.3 sarà applicato alla valutazione dell'inventario dei prodotti di corrosione attivati (ACPs) dei circuiti di refrigerazione del Vacuum Vessel di ITER. La verifica nell'applicazione di tale codice sarà accompagnata dal controllo della documentazione allegata (manuale d'uso, documento di descrizione dei modelli).
